GE Works

Want to save energy, time, and money? Your appliances can help.

The kitchen accounts for over 25 percent of electricity use in the average US household. GE’s ecomagination Kitchen is a suite of refrigeration, cooking, and dishwashing appliances that offer improved energy efficiency compared to standard kitchen appliances. Our ecomagination appliances can help reduce electricity consumption in the average US kitchen by as much as 20 percent.

The 2.5 million ecomagination kitchen products sold in 2010—including GE’s ENERGY STAR ®-qualified refrigerators and dishwashers and GE’s Double Oven Electric Ranges—were designed to make a difference. The energy they save could avoid over 130,000 metric tons of associated CO2 emissions on the US grid per year. That’s equivalent to the annual CO2 emissions of over 25,000 cars on US roads.

More Options, Less Energy

Preheat your oven faster, use less energy, and save electricity with the GE Double Oven. The GE Double Ovens sold in 2010 alone saved around 3.3 million kilowatt hours per year, representing CO2 emissions of 4.4 million pounds—the same amount produced by 392 cars annually.

Clean Dishes and a Cleaner Environment

Save time, energy, and water with the latest generation of GE dishwashers. Arriving in 2012, our new GE Profile Dishwasher is able to sense details about every load, adjusting cycle time and water temperature to get dishes clean while using less water and energy.

Side-by-Side Savings

With a wide range of friendly features, the GE Side-by-Side Refrigerator can save you up to 21% in annual energy use compared to a traditional refrigerator. Side-by-Side Refrigerator owners saved an estimated $5.88 million in energy costs in 2009.
