U.S. Wind Power Gets BP, Sempra Boost

Two new wind farms will soon be built in Wyoming County, Pennsylvania and Wichita, Kansas thanks to a major contribution from BP and Sempra Energy. The two companies combined funding to make a more than $1 billion investment in U.S. renewable energy.

The Pennsylvania and Kansas farms are expected to provide 141 and 419 megawatts of power respectively. GE wind turbines will be used at both facilities.

These new plants are part of a larger effort for Sempra to boost its renewable energy portfolio, specifically with wind, solar, and natural gas.
