TrueCourse™ Flight Management System (FMS)

GE’s TrueCourse Flight Management System is a hardware and software avionics system which assists an airline flight crew in managing and optimizing a flight from takeoff to landing. TrueCourse interfaces with other aircraft systems to automatically generate the optimal flight path based on the flight plan. This enables the aircraft to fly the most efficient path, helping to improve on time arrival performance while reducing fuel consumption, noise and emissions.

Environmental Benefits

If a typical fleet of twenty-nine 737NG aircraft could fly GE's TrueCourse Flight Management System Optimized Descent 50% of the time, this would avoid nearly 6,000 metric tons of CO2 emissions per year based on a representative study, equivalent to the annual CO2 emissions of over 1,100 cars on U.S. roads

Operating Benefits

If a typical fleet of twenty-nine 737NG aircraft could fly GE's TrueCourse Flight Management System Optimized Descent 50% of the time, this would reduce annual fuel consumption by over 600,000 gallons based on a representative study, saving over $1.5 million per year at an average jet fuel price of $2.50 per gallon.
