For example, installing GE's Trip Optimizer™ software on an Evolution™ Series locomotive operating in North America at full utilization under a typical duty cycle could avoid an average of 3% to 17% of CO2 emissions, based on the specific route and application, by reducing fuel consumption, or approximately 66 to 380 metric tons of CO2 emissions per year. This is equivalent to the annual CO2 emissions of 13 to 74 cars on U.S. roads.
