GE’s Quadramatic™ Motor System is used in SAG (Semi-Autonomous Grinding) and ball mill drive systems and has the highest efficiency in its class for dual pinion, fixed speed mill applications. The motor is used worldwide in copper, gold, and iron ore mines.
GE's Quadramatic™ Motor System has the highest efficiency for dual pinion, fixed speed mill applications in the mining industry. Compared to induction or gearless technologies, a 9,000 HP Quadramatic Motor System consumes approximately 4.5 million kWh less electricity per year, avoiding the emission of approximately 2,700 metric tons of CO2 on the U.S. grid. This is equivalent to the annual CO2 emissions of more than 500 passenger cars on U.S. roads.
