Environmental Benefits

GE's Jenbacher J624 spark-ignited gas engine for combined heat and power applications is designed to achieve overall efficiency of approximately 85%, reducing fuel consumption compared to the separate production of heat and electricity. Over the course of a year, a J624 engine operating at full load is designed to avoid the emission of more than 1,800 metric tons of CO2 compared to the separate production of heat by a typical natural gas-fired boiler and the delivery of electricity on the EU grid, equivalent to the annual CO2 emissions of over 1,000 cars on European roads.

Operating Benefits

GE's Jenbacher J624 4.5MW spark-ignited gas engine for combined heat and power applications is designed to produce approximately 34 million kWh of electricity annually--and approximately 29 million kWh of usable heat without consuming additional fuel. This is equivalent to the electricity consumed by over 8,300 European households and the space heating requirements of almost 2,900 European households per year.
