The more than 1,200,000 ENERGY STAR® qualified GE refrigerators sold in 2011 were designed to avoid over 100,000 metric tons of CO2 emissions on the US power grid annually versus non-qualified refrigerators. This is equivalent to the annual CO2 emissions of over 20,000 cars on U.S. roads.
Operating Benefits
ENERGY STAR® qualified GE refrigerators are 20% more energy efficient than non-qualified refrigerators. If used over a ten-year period, an ENERGY STAR® qualified GE refrigerator could save an average U.S. household approximately $150 at $0.1065 per kWh.
