GE's Zoneline® air conditioners with heat pump technology are 9-14% more energy efficient than the U.S. Department of Energy requirement for this technology. Heating and cooling a 100-unit hotel using GE's Zoneline® air conditioners operating for 2,500 hours annually with a 12% energy efficiency improvement compared to the 2012 DOE requirement can avoid over 14 metric tons of CO2 emissions on the U.S. grid per year. This is equivalent to the CO2 emissions of more than 34,000 passenger car-miles on U.S. roads.
