Environmental Benefits
Based on a representative customer installation, the GE 24x29 DVS pump averaged a Best Efficiency Point of 87.9%, 3.4% higher than prior GE technology. Based on this efficiency increase leading to lower electricity consumption, utilising 50 DVS Pumps on a typical North American liquid pipeline can avoid 28,000 metric tons of CO2 emissions on the US electric grid per year versus prior GE technology, equivalent to the annual CO2 emissions of over 5,500 cars on US roads.
Operating Benefits
The GE DVS pump has 3-4% higher efficiency than prior GE technology. At full capacity, this enables the DVS Pump to save an amount of energy equivalent to the electricity consumed by over 200 US homes, while pumping the volumetric equivalent of an Olympic swimming pool every 16 minutes.
